Types of Assistance Available to You:
Texas Rental Relief Program
Texas Rent Relief, a new State of Texas program, is accepting applications beginning at 8 a.m. Feb. 15 to help those affected by the pandemic to pay their rent and utility bills, including past-due and up to three months of expected expenses.

Those who have incomes at or below 50% of the area median income or who are unemployed will receive priority, especially if they apply by Feb. 28.
Texas Electricity Relief Program

Deferred Payment Plan
We understand that some families may be facing financial difficulties. If you need more time to pay your bill, please call us at (844) 361-2080 Mon - Fri, 9 am - 6 pm CST so we can work with you on a deferred payment plan that keeps your balance and monthly payments manageable.State of Texas COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program
(Apply now - last day to enroll is August 31st)
If you or someone you know has recently filed for unemployment, they may qualify for the state’s electricity relief program that will help keep their power on. Apply online or call the Texas Lifeline 24/7 at 866-454-8387 (Note: Last day to enroll is August 31, 2020). If you're the primary account holder and receive SNAP or Medicaid, you’re automatically enrolled and do not need to apply. Solix hours of operation are 24/7/365.
The state of Texas has partnered with SOLIX to process all relief fund applications through the Texas Lifeline. NOTE: You may experience long call wait times as agents work to serve all Texans in need of assistance. Who qualifies and how do I apply?
If you receive assistance through SNAP or Medicaid, you’re automatically enrolled and do not need to call the Texas Lifeline.
What information will I need to provide when I call?
You’ll need to provide the information that matches your Express Energy account, including name and address. It may also be helpful to have the following:
• Account number
• Last four digits of your social security number
• Phone number
What information will I need to provide after I call?
You’ll need to send a copy of your acceptance from the Texas Workforce Commission and a copy of your electricity bill within 30 days of calling. You can send this via email or mail.
